Symphony Rags from Bristol, Tennessee play songs from all over the map of American music. Individually, they’ve been Reeltime Travelers, everybodyfields, and Brother Boys, played the Grand Ole Opry, every major roots music festival in the country, and half the bars and churches in Tennessee. Together, their original material won 1st place in the Chris Austin Songwriting Contest at Merlefest and makes audiences laugh, dance, and sing along. Nick Friedman writes “supervirtuosic, superfun, Symphony Rags are pushing the boundaries for what could be considered ‘Americana’ music.” They are Jake Canter, Megan Gregory, Nathan McClure, Brandon Story, and Mariel Story, and they’re in love with the Everly Brothers, the McGarrigle Sisters, The Smiths, Wings, Burt Bachrach, and Daniel Lanois.
